The PHO compliance date is getting closer...

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has revoked the generally recognized as safe (GRAS) status of partially hydrogrenated oils (PHO's), and as a result, all PHO's must be eliminated from food products by June 18, 2018 or the food will be considered to be adulterated. Any company without a recall strategy prior to the compliance date may face legal action and reputation damage.

Because the compliance date is growing near, it is crucial that companies understand how they will be affected by this ruling.  Without an understanding and a strategy in place for compliance, you may face legal action.  Do you understand compliance?

    Attendees will gain an understanding of industry interpretation of the FDA's determination for PHO uses in food under GMA's FAP if the petition is approved. They will also gain an understanding of compliance and tolerance and their associated background levels.
