Supplier Make the Grade?

Friday, April 15, 2011
1:00 - 3:30 pm (EST)

Recently, the federal government enacted the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), landmark legislation representing the most sweeping expansion of food safety requirements and FDA food safety authorities since the 1938 Federal Food, Drug, & Cosmetic Act.

The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) is offering the Supplier Benchmarking: Does Your Supplier Make the Grade webinar on April 15, 1-3:30pm EST to focus on the four components of the FSMA that address supplier related issues, including:

  • Supplier verification activities related to food safety
  • Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements
  • Voluntary Qualified Importer Programs (VQIP)
  • FDA’s new authority to require import certifications

This webinar will identify the overlaps that may exist between these four supplier sections of the act, provide clarity on both regulatory content and effective methods for potential compliance of FSMA mandated requirements and provide details about the tools and techniques that can be employed to achieve overall food safety supplier management objectives, all in a convenient, time-effective electronic media format in which all participants will have the opportunity to engage with expert facilitators, both online and via telephone.
