Consumer Packaged Goods Leaders Gather for Premier Industry Conference

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) kicked-off its annual Executive Conference last night at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The 2010 conference features insights from the nation’s most respected thought leaders, visionaries and policymakers on current and emerging trends impacting the food, beverage and consumer products industry.

Built around the theme Connecting with Consumers, Providing Responsible Solutions, this year’s conference, boasting over 720 attendees including more than 40 retail trading partners and representatives from more than 30 allied trade groups, aims to create a forum in which retailers and manufacturers can collaborate to address issues influencing consumers, the industry and the global economy.

“The theme for this year’s event was carefully chosen to reflect the tremendous leadership the CPG industry has shown in the marketplace and the public policy arena,” said GMA President and CEO Pamela G. Bailey. “Despite a challenging economic environment, our companies have retained their steadfast commitment to their consumers. They provide the innovative products consumers want, the value they need and have found more and more creative and cost-efficient ways to get their products to market. That is what this conference is all about.”

The conference program was constructed to highlight industry’s innovation, creativity and responsible solutions on key issues, including health and wellness, food safety, innovation, delivering value to consumers in a challenging economy and manufacturer-retailer collaboration.
