WASHINGTON, D.C. – In conjunction with its 100th anniversary, the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) today released GMA: Celebrating a Century of Leadership, a video presentation that chronicles the association’s history, leadership, mission and agenda for the future.
“Since its founding in 1908, GMA has served as the voice of the food, beverage and consumer products industry in Washington, D.C.,” said GMA President and CEO Cal Dooley. “And in 2008, GMA continues this tradition, providing leadership on the wide variety of challenges and opportunities facing our member companies. From supply chain efficiency and enhanced customer and channel collaboration to food safety and energy policy, GMA is serving as a laboratory for new ideas, helping our member companies serve their customers better and faster than ever before.
“As we celebrate a century of leadership, I would like to personally thank all of the individuals who have served GMA in a leadership or staff capacity over the last 100 years. It is their dedication and ingenuity that makes GMA what it is today: a supply chain, advocacy and scientific powerhouse on behalf of the food, beverage and CPG industry,” concluded Mr. Dooley.
GMA: Celebrating a Century of Leadership, and its companion print booklet are available at www.gmaonline.org.
