Codex Committee on Food Additives (CCFA)

The Codex Committee on Food Additives (CCFA) establishes or endorses acceptable maximum levels for individual food additives, prepares priority lists of food additives for risk assessment by the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA), assigns functional classes to additives, considers methods of analysis for the determination of additives in foods and recommends specifications of identity and purity. CCFA is hosted by China.
