(Washington, D.C.) Today, the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) issued the following statement in support of the allocated funding for the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to conduct a consumer outreach and education campaign on agricultural biotechnology.
“Agricultural biotechnology has allowed Americans to have the most abundant and affordable food supply in the world. This funding by Congress for work by FDA to better educate the public about the many benefits of this invaluable tool for agriculture will help counter the misinformation about agricultural biotechnology. It reflects the strong bipartisan support in House and Senate hearings that the federal government should do a better job of giving consumers more information about agricultural biotechnology and its benefits.”
