WASHINGTON, D.C. – Pamela G. Bailey, president and CEO of the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), today announced the appointment of Mandy N. Hagan, Esq. as vice president of state affairs and grassroots.
“I am pleased to welcome Mandy Hagan to the GMA Government Affairs staff,” said Bailey. “Her experience and proven leadership as an association public affairs professional will go a long way towards advancing the food, beverage and consumer products industry’s efforts to achieve responsible public policy solutions at all levels of government.”
Hagan has worked in associations and government relations for nearly a decade. She joins GMA from Walgreen Co. where she served as director of government relations for health and wellness. In this role, she led federal, state and local advocacy efforts for the retailer’s health and wellness division, including legislative campaigns, regulatory engagement and coalition building.
Prior to Walgreen, Hagan spent four years at the Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA) as national director of state government relations. At CHPA, she worked with an extensive network of staff, consultants and political organizations to provide legislative and administration leaders with information about issues impacting the nonprescription (OTC) drug manufacturing industry. Her career includes stints at two other Washington-based trade groups and a legal clerkship. Hagan got her start in the public policy field as a district representative for Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA).

Hagan will report to Louis Finkel, GMA’s executive vice president for government affairs. In her new role, Hagan will be responsible for managing all state and local policy issues and advocacy activities on behalf of the food, beverage and consumer products industry.
