Caribbean HACCP Project
GMA SEF is partnering with The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) to build the capacity of Public Sector Professionals and Private Sector Stakeholders in Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) to support implementation of SPS measures and increase trade opportunities in CARIFORUM countries.
Jamaica Food Safety Capacity Building
The GMA SEF is supporting the modernization of food companies to meet international export requirements, to ensure compliance with GFSI specifications and also to assist the Government of Jamaica to develop the “Jamaica Mark” for recognition of a consistent supply of high quality, safe food for export.
Supplier Food Safety Training
This program is scaling-up food safety training and capacity building amongst suppliers, processors, and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries with an initial focus in China. The training is aligned with the GFSP, is complementary to the APEC/Food Safety Cooperation Forum plans and supports compliance with the GFSI Global Markets Protocols required by many international supply chains.
Consulting and Advisory Services
The GMA SEF also provides consulting and advisory services in the development and implementation of in country and regional level food safety training and capacity building projects and programs supported by international development organizations and industry partners. China Food and Drug Administration
The SEF has provided advisory services to the China FDA in a comparative analysis of the food safety systems in OECD countries, and facilitating study tours to these countries to support the development of a comprehensive strategy for food safety capacity building in China.
